What are the costs and benefits?
You love your pet, and want to make sure that you can afford the proper treatment that it deserves. We know that two out of three pets will need veterinary treatment each year for unexpected illness or injury, so we need to plan ahead for those expenses. Modern veterinary care is wonderful, but can involve a great deal of cost.

Vets Own will pay up to 80% (depending on the level of cover selected) of eligible costs of treatment for unexpected
Illness and Accidental Injury up to the applicable limits of the policy you
choose. An annual excess of $50 for each condition will apply.

You can afford the proper care that your family pet deserves with Vets Own Pet Health Insurance.

There are three Vets Own Pet Health Insurance policies. Each offers great benefits, with very competitive premiums. There is a 10% discount for second and subsequent pets (see the Multiple Pet Discount Table below).

Why I should insure my pet?
Some important pet care facts you need to know...
  • Two out of three pets will need treatment for sudden and unexpected illness and injury each year.

  • Modern veterinary treatment can provide amazing results with sick and injured pets, but this often involves a lot of expense.

  • We often see dogs and cats of 15 years, or even older, living active and happy lives. Vets Own Pet Health Insurance will provide lifelong cover to help make those "olden years golden years".
Vets Own Pet Health Insurance will help you afford the proper care your pet deserves, so that it too can live to a ripe old age, happy and active as a much loved family member.

Is there a higher cost for some breeds?
A small number of breeds have a claims history that is higher than average, so it is only fair that owners of those breeds contribute to these extra costs.

The following are Select breeds, whether pure breed or part breed,
and cost an extra $5.00 per month.
Alaskan Malamute Bernese Mountain Dog
Boxer Bull Terrier
Bulldogs (all breeds) Chow Chow
Great Dane Golden Retriever
Irish Wolfhound Mastiff (all breeds)
Newfoundland Old English Sheepdog
